Group Therapy for Teens
Yapping, Crafting, and Thriving
Have you noticed that your middle schooler is experiencing difficulties with friends or peers, self-esteem, emotion regulation, stress management, or other specific issues related to the early teen years? If so, group therapy may be a useful therapeutic resource.
Group therapy can be a highly effective treatment modality for youth, as it provides opportunities for peer support, peer connection, and peer validation accompanied by the expertise of a licensed therapist.
Yapping, Crafting, and Thriving combines meaningful conversations with activities and experiences that allow middle schoolers to openly express themselves and enjoy being a young teen.

Are you concerned your teen is experiencing negative body esteem? Perhaps you have noticed changes in the way they talks about or interact with food or exercise? Do you wish your teen would treat themself with greater kindness and learn to value themself more? If so, your teen may be a strong candidate for the Be Body Positive group!
This 15-week group is designed to support the development of a positive body image, stronger sense of self, and the skills to critically think about and reject unhelpful messages regarding diet culture, beauty standards, and societal expectations.
The Be Body Positive group is an evidenced-based group created by The Body Positive, an organization dedicated to supporting the development of positive embodiment. The Body Positive developed the curriculum of this group around five core competencies:
Reclaim Health
Practice Intuitive Self-Care
Cultivate Self-Love
Declare Your Own Authentic Beauty
Build Community
Through these five core competencies, group members learn meaningful and effective information and skills to build resilience and create a loving, positive relationship with themselves. The group incorporates peer connection, skill-building, creativity, and professional guidance to support each group member in their journey towards a happier and healthier relationship with themselves.
As a licensed Be Body Positive facilitator, I am trained to guide your teen week-to-week as they learn how to incorporate the core competencies into their life. This is a group of empowerment, and the goal is to develop skills that can support your teen throughout their life.
